Ala – Centre for Alternative Education and Culture invites aspiring actors, theatre enthusiasts, educators, storytellers, and anyone interested in creative expression to participate in a 2-Day Residential Basic Acting Workshop led by renowned actor, storyteller, and theatre facilitator Manu Jose.
This immersive residential experience is designed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of acting through theatre-based learning, creative exploration, and collaborative performance.

Meet the Facilitator – Manu Jose
Manu Jose is an acclaimed actor, storyteller, theatre practitioner, and facilitator with decades of experience in theatre, education, and cultural initiatives.
He is the recipient of the Kalasree Award presented by the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi (2014). Trained in Theatre Acting, Manu has worked alongside several eminent theatre and film directors throughout his career.
Beyond acting, he has anchored numerous television programmes for children on leading Malayalam television channels.
Recognized as Kerala's premier professional live storyteller, Manu has performed in more than 700 live storytelling sessions and facilitated over 1,000 workshops on theatre and life skills for audiences ranging from students to corporate professionals.
A pioneer of Applied Theatre in Kerala, he has played a significant role in several landmark cultural and literary initiatives, including:
Manu currently serves as the Managing Trustee of Meandyou Foundation and the Creative Director of Ala – Centre for Alternative Education and Culture in Mulanthuruthy, Ernakulam.
